Dr. Daniel Tensmeyer, M.D.

Dr. Tensmeyer, is a fellowship-trained Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgeon. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he was honored with membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and also received The Hiram Benjamin Award for Proficiency in Anatomy. Following medical school, he moved his family to Kalamazoo, MI for orthopaedic residency at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine in affiliation with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He received additional training in New Orleans, LA at a sports medicine fellowship with the Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute. He worked alongside the NBA and NFL team physicians for the New Orleans Pelicans and New Orleans Saints, which provided him with unique opportunities to learn and care for professional athletes, including being involved in orthopaedic medical evaluations at the 2015 NFL Combine. He also provided healthcare for multiple high schools and universities in the New Orleans area. Dr. Tensmeyer is fluent in Spanish and enjoys working with patients of all ages to help them maximize their level of functioning so they can continue a healthy and fulfilling quality of life. He performs arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee including ligament reconstruction, joint replacement, and trauma care.
